01 | Order

How about the usual lead time?

In case of rotating tools, about 3-4 weeks after the accepting an order.
In case of turning tools, about 3-6 weeks after the accepting an order.

How about the tools in stock?

PRIMO series is normally kept in stock, and we can deliver promptly.

Do you accept the regrinding?

We accept the regrinding of either one of rotating or turning tools.

Do you accept the regrinding of other manufacturers’ tools?

Yes, we can. Please consult with our staff.

How do you measure the waviness?

We use a non-contact three-dimensional measuring device.

02 | Material

Is the diamond used as cutting edge a natural diamond?

Basically a synthetic diamond is used. In case of natural diamond, the quality is not homogenous, while there exists one with an excellent quality, there exists one with defect containing impurities or crack. On the other hand, the quality of synthetic diamond is homogenous in quality making it suitable for making cutting tools, therefore, synthetic diamond is generally used, except for a limited kinds of turning tool where a natural one is used.

What is the difference between the single crystal diamond (= SCD) and the sintered diamond (or poly crystal diamond = PCD)?

SCD is in itself a diamond crystal. On the other hand, PCD is made by sintering the powdered single crystal diamond under the high temperature and high pressure using the binder of e.g. Co. Generally a single crystal such as diamond has a crystal orientation. By grinding according to the orientation, the wear makes progress easily. Diamond is ground by making use of this merit. On the other hand, as the orientation of each grain that composes the diamond sintered body is irregular, making PCD micro tools by grinding work is almost impossible.

03 | Processing

Can we use the oily cutting fluid to the single crystal diamond tools?

There is no problem with the oily cutting fluid. Generally speaking, by using the oily or aqueous cutting fluid, the surface roughness improves and the raise of temperature is controlled.

How to improve the surface roughness?

Wet working can improve the surface roughness. However, in the case of machining condition where the problem may happen about the discharge of chips, the use of preferentially of mist working will eventually increase the surface roughness.

High-speed spindle is required?

In case of work material with hard and brittle material, it is sufficient with that of 10,000 min-1 or so. As there is no need to worry about the discharge of chips, it may possible to operate with a higher rotation according to a performance of machine, but it may need to pay attention to the sliding phenomenon at the cutting point according to a work material.

How about a lateral feed rate?

As the spindle speed differs according to a work material, there is a difference about a lateral feed rate. In the case of hard and brittle materials, 0.1-0.5µm is recommended. Harder the work material slower the spindle speed, and lateral feed rate is made smaller.

How is the ACCU series

ACCU series is the group of tools suitable for the use of super precision machining such as for a metal mold of a head-up-display of a car, for a PES (Poly-Ellipsoid System) lens, for a micro-lens alley, for a diffraction grating, etc.

How is the PRIMO series

PRIMO series is a family of the ACCU series. This group of tools are recommended for the users of other areas than super precision machining, such as making mirror surface of aluminum or transparent of acrylic materials, still making the best use of the advantage of single crystal diamond tools.

How is the CRÉE series

The name of CREÉ series is derived from French word that means to create. The precision of the tools of this group is as accurate as the PRIMO series, and correspond to the orders of users in terms of the changes of shank size or extension of effective length.
